Cookie Policy

Effective Date: August 1, 2026 • Last Updated: October 5, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how URLSRT (operated by AshParX) uses cookies and browser local storage technologies when you visit our website and use our link management platform.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used to make websites work properly, improve browsing efficiency, and provide basic operational information to site administrators.

2. Cookies We Use

URLSRT employs a minimal cookie footprint strictly focused on authentication, security, and interface preferences:

A. Strictly Necessary & Authentication Cookies

These cookies are vital for you to log in, navigate between pages, and manage your short links safely. Without these cookies, the logged-in dashboard cannot function.

  • access_token: An HTTP-only JWT (JSON Web Token) cookie used to authenticate your active session requests. Expires after 15 minutes.
  • refresh_token: A secure JWT cookie that enables your browser to refresh your authentication state without requiring you to re-enter your password repeatedly. Expires after 7 days.

B. Preference & Interface Storage

We use browser localStorage to remember your display preferences across visits:

  • app-theme: Stores your chosen visual theme (dark or light) so your preferred theme applies instantly without page flickering.

C. Link Redirection Cookies

When general visitors navigate to a shortened URL (e.g., urlsrt.com/abc123), no persistent tracking cookies are placed on the visitor's device. Redirections are handled immediately via HTTP headers without injecting third-party advertising cookies into the destination experience.

3. Third-Party Cookies

If you opt to sign in using Google OAuth (Single Sign-On), Google may set authentication-related session cookies in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

4. How to Manage and Control Cookies

You can control and manage cookies using your web browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are stored on your device and delete them individually.
  • Block third-party cookies from being set.
  • Block all cookies from specific websites or altogether.
  • Clear all cookies upon closing your browser window.

Note: If you disable strictly necessary authentication cookies, you will be unable to log in to your URLSRT dashboard or create new links.

5. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

6. Contact Us
